Electric Car Charging Stations in the Snowy Mountains
As more people purchase electric cars, we’ve had the occasional enquiry about facilities at Thredbo Farm Ski Lodge for overnight charging. As of winter 2025, we have no specific facilities in place, nor a method to monitor and pass on the costs of recharging to guests ($20-$30 for a full battery charge at current power prices). Without going into the technical details, charging your EV at the lodge is not permitted without explicit permission, as it may jeopardise the stability of the lodge’s power system. The board may reassess this if demand grows and there’s a case for the large investment required to upgrade the lodge’s power to accommodate EV charging.
